Anglian Water Catchment Regeneration Fund open

11/3/26

An £11m fund available to support projects across the 11 A-WINEP rural catchments has been launched by Anglian Water.  The grant is aimed at improving the ecological health of the waterbodies using nature-based solutions.

The first grant window closes on 31 March 2026. The next application window will be 1 June 2026 - 31 July 2026.

Anglian Water's programme focuses on the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a diverse programme of nature-based solution (NbS) delivery, in the target catchments.  Utilising NbS measures that have been shown to have co-benefits for both water quality and water resources, giving the greatest impact on the ecological health of the catchment.

To apply for funding projects must have at least one of the following two outcomes as their primary goal:

  • To reduce nutrient (phosphate or nitrate) pollution into waterbodies that lie within the 11 target A-WINEP catchments
  • To mitigate the impact of low flow in waterbodies that lie within the 11 target A-WINEP catchments

Wider benefits, such as biodiversity, educational and community improvements will add additional strength to a project’s application but projects must, in the first instance, meet one of the outcomes detailed above.

Applications to the grant fund will go to a Review Panel, whose role it is to assess the strength of the application against other applications and decide on whether to grant funding.
